EPILOGUE

I bet you thought I was gonna leave you hanging. Now that would be rude and y’all know a southern girl cannot be rude. So here goes…

After many hours of lovemaking, I awoke to…oh shit, that’s not what y’all want to know. You wanna know what happened to Virgil. (Chill, I was just playing.)

During the fight, Bobby was able to get the upper hand and stab him in the heart with a silver spike that until recently, I had no idea he owned. Of course, all secrets are out now that…oh, hold on. I’ll get to that.

Anyway, a silver spike to the heart does not kill an akágí yitsʼǫǫsii or a vampire for that matter, it only renders them totally immobilized, completely coherent and able to feel everything, but unable to move in any way, even to blink their eyes. Bobby then took my stalker, aka six time murderer, to Big Bald Mountain and buried him deep in a cavern in the heart of a mountain that is guarded by werewolves. (Don’t ask. I had no clue either and am nowhere near ready to learn any more about them than that they exist.) The stupid son of a bitch will live forever, or until his head finds its way off his shoulders, in utter isolation, unable to move, unable to escape, unable to harm another soul. It seems like a fair punishment for the beautiful lives he snuffed out of existence.

As for those six women that I will forever feel responsible for? Their cases will go unsolved, but there are those of us that will always remember and do everything in our power to make sure their legacies live on in one way or another.

Bobby also took care of the destroyed morgue. He took pictures before so I could see, and then had a few of his ‘special’ friends (Read as something other than a werewolf and a vamp and know that one day, when I can deal with other ‘things that go bump in the night’ being out there, I’ll get you right up to speed.) help restore it to its original utilitarian awesomeness. Not even Reggie noticed anything different, and that boy notices everything.

I hope that answers all your questions, because today is my wedding day! To say I’m excited would be a HUGE understatement. I’m ecstatic and cannot wait to become Mrs. Robert James Monroe. I have to hyphenate my name. Daddy’s orders, because of the whole inheriting an empire thing, but in my heart I’m just gonna be Vidalia Monroe and that sounds as close to heaven as I ever thought I’d get.

After all, what more can the Vidalia onion heiress from Buckhead, GA, who just happens to be a cursed, fangless vampire, hope for?

Now go on, I need to put the finishing touches on my makeup and get into my wedding dress. This is one party I’m not gonna be fashionably late to, no matter what Emily Post has to say about it.
